...and the award goes to...Margaret Birtley

On Australia Day (26 January) this year Margaret Macvey Birtley was awarded an AM, Member of the Order of Australia, for:

'significant service to cultural heritage, particularly to the museums sector, to education, and to historical preservation'.

The Order of Australia award scheme (1975- ) recognises outstanding service at the national level.

As a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), Margaret joins 339 other Australians recognised for outstanding service in this category this year. The only higher orders in the non-military division are Officers ((AO) 140) and Companions ((AC) 35) of the Order of Australia.

Significance International congratulates Margaret on this extraordinary honour and trusts that she will continue to spread her wisdom far and wide in the heritage and education sectors.
